Wooing Tree

64 Shortcut Road, Cromwell

The Wooing Tree is a local landmark that sits prominently in the middle of our family vineyard. It has long been a place for locals to woo their lovers, and if it could talk, would have many a story to tell! These days it is not quite the private spot it once was...but we still have plenty of visitors proposing marriage and even getting married under our beautiful iconic tree, amidst the vines. Lunches also available.

Carrick Wines

Cairnmuir Road, Bannockburn

There is magic in drinking a wine where it is made. As an awareness of place and seasonality contributes to our wine drinking pleasure, so it is with food. Carrick winery incorporates a cellar door and restaurant,(simply named Carrick), that overlooks the spectacular Bannockburn Inlet. The restaurant was opened in 2002 and has received many accolades It is open daily for lunches and occasionally in the evening for special functions and by arrangement.

Felton Road

319 Felton Road, Bannockburn, Cromwell

Considerable research by Stuart Elms (hence the Elm tree logo) in 1991 identified the north facing slopes at the end of Felton Road, Bannockburn as being one of the warmest and most ideal sites in Central Otago for the growing and production of premium wine. Heat summation data and soil maps of the area, developed as a result of the construction of the Clyde Dam, were helpful in this decision. The three different soils identified are free draining with low fertility characteristics, and combined with the unique climate, are ideal for the production of premium quality Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling. Cellar Door sales by appointment only.

Burn Cottage Vineyard

Wind Earth Wines

803 Kawarau Gorge Road

Just like the many other wineries of the pristine areas of Central Otago, our pride and passion is our Pinot. Our clay, schist, silty loam soils and alpine climate produce a wine that is one of a kind. Each year the precious terroir gifts us luscious bunches of Pinot pleasure. With each exciting vintage we are blessed with a new understanding, as caretakers of this land. Our hearts bloom in Bannockburn's Felton Road and Lowburn. We are a small family owned winery who produce award winning Pinot Noir and also some wonderful examples of aromatic Pinot Gris, sweet and dry style Rieslings and beautiful Pinot Noir Rosé and we are now onto our second Chardonnay Vintage! We only use French oak for barrel maturation. Lunch also available.
