Burn Cottage Retreat is the ultimate private relaxation retreat for couples, offering a choice of three self contained cottages and a king bed and breakfast room, in a secluded and tranquil Central Otago rural setting, 3 minutes drive from Cromwell township and beautiful Lake Dunstan.

Situated 2km from the southern end of Lake Dunstan in the heart of the Central Otago wine region, we are surrounded by award winning vineyards, delicious stone fruit orchards and just a short journey from the start of the Otago Central Rail Trail and the region's many lakes, rivers and mountains.

Our central location just off the Wanaka-Queenstown highway provides easy access for guests to enjoy day trips to picturesque Arrowtown or Wanaka. Within an hour's drive our guests can be on the shores of Lake Wakatipu and the South Island's premier adventure playground, Queenstown, or on the slopes of the region's many skifields - Cardrona, Treble Cone, Coronet, the Snow Park and Snow Farm and the Remarkables.

Our accommodation is hidden amidst a walnut grove and stunning hosta, tussock and woodland gardens.  The warm earthy tones and attention to detail in the cottage decor and fittings, the welcoming cosy farmhouse feel of the homestay accommodation and the landscaped gardens all combine to create an absolute haven of peace and tranquility for those who appreciate the finer things in life and wish to enjoy respite from the pressures and technology/information overload of everyday life.
